About the Project

In October 2004, the Office of the CIO appointed a Classroom Response System committee to research clicker systems, their instructional uses, and what policies and procedures regarding their use, implementation and support would make the best sense for OSU. The Classroom Response System committee issued a final report (pdf) on March 2, 2005.

After discussing pedagogical, technical, and policy issues, their conclusion was

"The committee recommends that the University give high priority to the adoption and support of a single standardized classroom response system. Students, staff, and faculty will all find that classroom response systems enhance learning by creating greatly increased engagement and interactivity. Choosing a single system makes feasible sophisticated technological and pedagogical support; both OSU and its students will get the most for their investment."

In spring of 2006, OSU standardized on clicker devices and supporting software from Turning Technologies, LLC.
